Bag policy and security screenings
We take the safety and security of all of our guests, artists and staff very seriously. Starting on 1st September 2017, visitors will no longer be allowed to bring bags or backpacks into the Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin.
Guests are permitted to take one small bag/handbag with them which does not exceed the size of “DIN A4” (21.0 x 29.7cm).
There will be designated Fast Lanes for guests who do not bring a bag at all.
Depending on the event, the respective promoter of the show may determine even stricter rules. It’s best to check the event page on our website before your visit for further details.
There is limited storage capacity for bags that exceed the allowed size limit, at a cost of 2 EUR per bag. The fee is charged to cover the costs for this service only. Any potential surplus will be donated to the charity organization "Anschutz hilft e.V.".
If you have to bring a large bag with you, may we also recommend using the storage facilities at Ostbahnhof station, which is located only short walk from the arena.
We are aware of the increasing need for security among our guests, artists and promoters. That’s why the Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin started using metal detectors at the doors in August 2016.
The screening procedure is quick and easy – please follow the instructions from our staff members and pass through the screening arch when asked to. You can facilitate the process by bringing only your mobile phones, keys, wallets and/or smaller cosmetic bags.
When should I arrive?
We generally recommend arriving at the venue in plenty of time. For most events, doors open two hours before the show starts. The earlier you arrive, the quicker you will be able to pass through our security checks. Please check the respective event page on our website and/or Facebook for detailed event timings.
