Basketball: Germany vs. France live at the Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin

Sunday, 27.08.2017 14:30 hrs

Just a few days ahead of the EuroBasket 2017, the German Basketball national team will be facing France in their last preparation game at the Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin. On 27 August 2017, both teams will be bringing their star-studded squads, including the likes of Dennis Schröder, Paul Zipser and Nicolas Batum, to the court. Tickets for the game are available now.

The encounter between Germany and France means a return to the venue that hosted the EuroBasket 2015. For both national teams, it will be their last test before the 40th edition of the EuroBasket 2017, which will be held in Finland, Isreal, Romania and Turkey from 31 August to 17 September.

The German team will be led by the two NBA stars Dennis Schröder (Atlanta Hawks) and Paul Zipser (Chicago Bulls). Coach Chris Fleming can also rely on Robin Benzing (CAI Basket Sragossa), Heiko Schaffartzik (JSF Nanterre), Johannes Voigtmann (Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz) and Tibor Pleiß (Galatasary Istanbul) to join the squad. The young team will be completed by Niels Giffey, Akeem Vargas (ALBA BERLIN), Daniel Theis, Maodo Lo, Patrick Heckmann (all Brose Bamberg) and Danilo Barthel, Maik Zirbes and Maximilian Kleber (all FC Bayern München).

With a total of six NBA stars, the Équipe tricolore will be a stern test for the German team. Guard Nicolas Batum (Charlotte Hornets) and Center Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz) are just two examples of the star-studded team.
